& Security
Delivery services rely on an outdated system struggling to meet the demands of modern life. By tapping into new, but proven, technologies and the existing transit network, Tulips Package Transit makes deliveries in a way that is socially, environmentally, and economically sustainable.
The Basic Formula
SMART LOADING STATIONS
TRANSIT
VEHICLES*
Quickly loads and unloads transit vehicles without impacting normal service.
Provides a low-cost link between loading stations at airports and other key transit and delivery hubs.
Offers safe, accessible locker pick-up along transit routes to bring packages closer to where people live and work.
Provides a micromobile zero carbon way to make deliveries using microhubs.
SMART LOCKER STORAGE
ELECTRIC LAST MILE VEHICLES AND CARGO BIKES
*Buses are the starting point, but over time, Tulips Transit could expand to use other forms of public transportation.
A Little Change For A Lot Of Progress
The first goal of Tulips Transit Delivery is to do a small pilot project to demonstrate automated top loading of buses.
Future projects will autonomously load Light Rail vehicles after midnight and during off-peak hours.
Commuters would travel in one train car and goods in another. It would be a small proof of concept with public input at each step of the way.
Bringing Last Mile Delivery Together With Public Transport
Utilizing existing infrastructure allows Tulips to create a system with negligible operational overhead and minimized startup costs. Moving items using buses or light rail vehicles is far more more energy efficient than traditional delivery vehicles. Moving goods during non-peak commuting time significantly decreases the monetary and carbon costs of last mile delivery and harmonizes with transit.
Package Collection Through Smart Storage Lockers
Multi-carrier smart lockers provide accessible package collection for customers along transit routes. The cost of implementing smart lockers across dozens of rail stations is less than half that of a single electric bus. Future locker integration in shopping centers, grocery stores, and neighborhood hubs provides greater customer convenience.
Increase Delivery Outreach with AVs and Cargo Bikes
Autonomous vehicles and cargo bikes expand the reach of last mile transit delivery without the need for trucks, providing more flexible delivery hours and reducing road congestion. Both require some initial overhead costs, but promise greater savings than any current road solutions.
Zero Zones is a tool that is unique to Tulips Transit Delivery. These Zones are centered around the Transit Network and adjacent areas for the purpose of carbon-free deliveries.
The beauty of this solution is that it can start small and then scale up to match market demand. Tulips is adaptable and can be tailored to the specific needs of individual cities.
